Music for Contemplation, Meditation
#1
The most I enjoy music is when I use it to be put into a state of meditation or contemplation, where I can drift into the sound for relaxation and relief, and maybe be stimulated for some change within. Here are some beautiful songs for that, mostly pleasant..ones I identify with..they are mostly art rock or experimental. I previously found a ritualistic pleasure in the drone genre with Swans.. Feel free to share your own.

Radiohead - Reckoner
Radiohead - Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
Radiohead - Present Tense
Radiohead - Nude
Radiohead - Daydreaming (Live)
Radiohead - The Numbers
Swans - A Piece of the Sky
Swans - Avatar
Swans - Helpless Child
Swans - To Be Kind
The Velvet Underground - Ride Into The Sun
The Velvet Underground- Sunday Morning
The Beatles - I'm So Tired
Friedrich Nietzsche - Eine Sylvesternacht, for violin and piano (1863)

Don't you even say James Morrison and Cat Stevens. Me, too! We could have been listening to the same things at the same time, do you think? Cool

Haha! Seeing how you and I often think alike, I'd say chances are good we were listening to them at the same time, yes. Big Grin

This came up on my playlist the other day and I instantly thought of you...

Apparently this song was designed to lower stress, and I've verified it works when I've had too much caffeine:
